About Health Psychology
Since 1982, Health Psychology has been known as a premier clinic in Michigan for harmoniously blending Traditional, Holistic, Alternative and Technological approaches to health and wellness.
A multi-disciplinary, non-medical mind/body focus on mental health, neurofeedback, biofeedback and psychophysiologically related disorders.
“Psychophysiology is concerned with the relationship between mental (psyche) and physical (physiological) processes; it is the scientific study of mind-body interaction.”
Therefore, an approach using highly accurate, differential diagnostic techniques including precision assessment and the evaluation of brain activity (qEEG). Clients find this process to be worthwhile, extremely informative and fascinating. Rather than use a ‘decision tree’ or a ‘one size fits all’ list, the ‘looking inside’ through non-invasive approaches like a qEEG sets Health Psychology/ADD Institute apart from other approaches.
Founded by Richard R. Williams, PhD. , thousands of people benefitted by his unending compassion, generosity, intellect, and creativity. Not to mention that wicked sense of humor!
In 1992 Patricia R. Tracy, LCSW joined the Staff. In 1995 they co-founded the ADD Institute. In 1998 they married. Many chapters were written over the next 14 years. In their 22 years together, they strengthened a local name and built a national reputation. Local and national presentations, contributing to research, providing training courses and workshops to other professionals, and developing software for neurofeedback. Always on the cutting edge, creating, supporting each other, clients, and enjoying mutual support of colleagues around the globe. In 1997 they successfully resolved the pain and fatigue of a Post-Polio client. This case was published in The Journal of Biofeedback, Volume 25, and Number 2. Summer of 1997.
People from all around the world have benefitted from the services of Health Psychology, P.C./ADD Institute. From the USA to Canada to Dubai, down the street and around town.
With the passing of Dr. Williams, the legacy of Hope and Healing lives on as new chapters continue to be written…
‘How you do something is more important than What’
